Bellmead Fire Department

Texas, in the fall of 2001, and a few chance encounters with vehicles from the Bellmead Fire Department (which is located in McLennan County, just north of Waco). And quite a mix it is, in age, types, and colours:

Pumpers

Based on a GMC light truck chassis, with a classic pumper body:

And another one, but based on an International chassis and presumably ex-Army:

Control Unit

Based on a Ford light truck chassis, with a van body, and in a fetching two-colour livery:

Please note that these are scans from an old 35mm slide from my archives, with resultant deterioration in colours and sharpness. What is more, the camera was broken at the time and screwed of exposure levels during the whole trip … well, they are still usable, I guess.
