The German Bahnpolizei (railway police) was operated by the state railways (Deutsche Bundesbahn) until 1992. In that year all operations, vehicles, and most personnel were transferred to the Bundesgrenzschutz (BGS, Federal Border Protection). For a while, vehicles were still operated with the old livery of dark green and the actual markings “Bahnpolizei”:
A strange hybrid below … no “Bahnpolizei” markings, police emblem of the BGS on door, but still the DB registration of the German railways!
