The German Red Cross (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz) in the Kreis Ludwigslust-Parchim, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, operates professional as well as volunteer services, using a variety of vehicles.
Krankentransportwagen (KTW) – Ambulances
The vehicle below was in use when the area was still part of the German Democratic Republic, but after the “Wende” (the fall of the Berlin Wall in late 1989). Image taken in Schwerin, 1990. The ambulance obviously was sourced from North Rhine-Westphalia, as the typical design (“NRW-Lackierung”) shows:
