THW Ludwigshafen

Vehicles used by the Technisches Hilfswerk (THW), the federal German rescue service, in Ludwigshafen.

These “Munga” jeep-like vehicles (Munga stands for “Mehrzweck-Universal-Geländewagen mit Allradantrieb” – roughly “Multiple Purpose Universal Offroad Vehicle with Four Wheel Drive”) were quite often seen in military an civil defence roles, though most would have been in shades of olive or khaki. This one obviously had a decent repaint in the THW colour of RAL 5002.

Please note that this a scan from an old 35mm slide from my archives, with resultant deterioration in colours and sharpness.
